IT is believed four sheep were savagely attacked and killed by a dog at Hammerton Farm near North Cerney, this morning.
A driver and his work colleague spotted the collie attacking a group sheep at the farm which is on the A435 this morning and called the police at 8.40am.
Ther driver, who does not want to be named, explained that he and his friend managed to stop the dog from attacking anymore sheep untill the police arrived by shouting at it.
A spokeman for Gloucestershire Police, Nigel Sargeant said that police are on the scene dealing with the incident.
He said: "The dog has been contained and it is not being aggresive at present.
He added that the district council dog warden service has been called out to deal with the dog.
Since this article was published the police have confirmed that the sheep and dog were owned by the same person and that the owner has agreed to put the dog down.
