A NEW dance and fitness craze is sweeping across Cirencester, and people are being encouraged to lace up their shoes and get shaking.

Local marketing manager and dance enthusiast Tori Walker has launched a new Fitsteps class and is urging everyone, whether they can dance or not, to get involved.

Fitsteps is a fitness class combining ballroom and Latin dances, similar to the moves seen on popular BBC One show Strictly Come Dancing.

"You have so much fun you don’t even realise how hard your muscles are working, until the next day," said Tori, 21. "For anyone who’s thinking, ‘But I can’t dance’ or ‘I don’t have anyone to dance with’, there’s no excuse – you don’t have to able to dance and you don’t need a partner."

Class members have described the new class, based at Active4Less in Dyer Street, as "really good fun" and "a great workout".

Anyone interested in joining or finding out more can call Tori on 07749 442798. Walk-ins are also welcome. The classes are held at the gym in Cirencester on Saturdays at 9.45am and Tuesdays at 5.15pm.

Tori has also started a new class on Thursdays at 7pm for an hour at La Attica.
