BRIGHT students from Rendcomb College are designing a web app that will give people wishing to give homeless people food and welfare support the means to locate them.
The students designed Ruby on Rails app with the help of Catriona Lambeth of the British Computer Society at their Hackday event earlier this month.
Cotswold chef and food activist, Rob Rees also served lunch at Hackday and talked about his charity Wiggly Worm, which uses food to improve health and well-being of the vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Sue Gilling, a spokesman for the college said that Hackday was brilliant and that students had worked hard in group to solve problems.
She added that Mr Rees said that he thought the app was a great idea and that it could be very beneficial to his Wiggly Worm charity.
The students are continuing to develop the app and will reveal more details about it later this year when it has been fully constructed.
