TV PRESENTER Kevin McCloud visited Stroud yesterday, Tuesday, supporting the launch of a new book documenting the transformation of Cashes Green Hospital.
Kevin, who has presented Channel 4 series Grand Designs since 1999, was signing books at the launch of The Art of Applewood – From Hospital to Homes, which is co-authored by photographer Ruth Davey and artist Lis Parker.
Founder of HAB Housing, Kevin supported the book launch which documents Cashes Green Hospital’s change into the award-winning Applewood development of 78 new homes opened in 2014.
The scheme was the second to be completed by Bristol-based alternative housing developer HAB Housing.
Now fully sold and occupied, it has been widely praised for its approach to ecology and sensitivity to the environment it sits within.
Kevin said: “This book records the passion of people who have poured their souls into a building project and staked their professional reputations to it; but equally importantly, the book brings together remembered events.”
The book can be bought for £10.99 from look-again.org/art-of-applewood/.
