A FAIRFORD seafood company has raised more than £200 for charity after auctioning off two bunches of asparagus.
New Wave Seafood teamed up with asparagus producer Chris Chinn of Cobrey Farm to raise money for St Michael's Hospice in Hereford.
Chris donated the first new season asparagus to the seafood company and the two bunches managed to raise a staggering £220 through a social media auction late last month.
The closing bid came from Carl Isham, head chef at Turl St. Kitchen in Oxford.
New Wave, Cobrey Farm, and St, Michaels Hospice have thanked all who took part. Bids came in thick and fast from The Daffodil in Cheltenham, Close Hotel in Tetbury and the Hare and Hounds in Westonbirt, as well as many other well-known local restaurants and pubs.
