POLICE investigating events that led to a man and a woman being thrown from their horses in Bisley Camp in Stroud are appealing to a female dog walker to come forward.

It is believed the woman has crucial information about what caused the riders to fall from their horses at around midday on Wednesday, March 4.

The 52-year-old local man riding one of the horses suffered a serious injury and was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where he remained in a critical condition last night.

The woman suffered a broken shoulder and collar bone.

Officers are urging the dog walker, who was present when the incident happened, to ring 101, quoting incident 179 of March 6.

She is described as white, in her 50s, 5ft 6ins tall, of average build, with blonde/grey hair which was chin length and appeared naturally curly.

She may have been wearing blue and white clothes.

Her dog was a black and white Border Collie that is described as "roughed or fluffed up”, giving the impression it was a home dog, not a working dog.
