EIGHT sex offenders have gone missing across Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, police records have revealed.
Figures released by 39 police forces after a Freedom of Information (FoI) request show that a total of 394 sex offenders are currently wanted because their whereabouts are unknown.
Gloucestershire Constabulary reported that three sex offenders were missing, while Wiltshire Police had lost track of five.
Registered sex offenders are required to inform the authorities of their addresses so they can be monitored.
The police forces responded to the FoI request last month or early this month.
The forces stressed that the figures could change as arrests were made or new cases came to light.
