A date has been set for the Tetbury town crier competition.
On September 19, the criers will be given a piece to perform about the town which will be judged on its dramatic style, quality of deliverance and, of course, volume.
The winner will become Tetbury’s official town crier, taking over from Peter Dauncey, who is to retire from his post after years of deafening service.
