SOUTH Cerney Parish Council have withheld a payment to architects White Design who are in charge of designing a £1.25 million youth and community centre in the village.
Peter Jay, a parish councillor, explained at the council’s meeting on March 11 that the decision to withdraw this month's payment to the company was taken because the council was not convinced that they had carried out work it agreed to do.
He added that since the architects payment was withheld its response has been great.
Work on the centre, which will be located in the Mallards housing complex, is expected to start this year.
