STROUD is to have it’s first mushroom farm, Fungusloci.
Artist and permaculture practitioner Dominic Thomas has designed and built a sustainable micro-farm where oyster mushrooms are cultivated on spent coffee grounds collected from local cafes.
The farm will host an opening event on Saturday, April 4 between 7pm and 9pm.
To celebrate the launch of his new urban food project Dominic has curated MycoCulture, an exhibition of art and design inspired by the world of mycology and microbiology.
It will include works by Simon Ryder, Aimee Lax, Kate Southworth and Glorious Ninth.
Based at Unit 23, Merrywalks in Stroud the farm and exhibition will be open to the public on Saturday, April 4, 11 & 18 from 10am.
