WITH more than 50 years experience in the NHS between them, Wallasey-based couple Susan and Stuart Woods are undertaking a trip of a lifetime to raise money for the Parkinson's Disease Society. The couple are planning to fly to China and trek along the Great Wall of China to promote the work of the charity and raise vital funds.

Susan, 53, is a Parkinson's Disease specialist nurse at The Royal Liverpool Hospital and Stuart, 55, is a recently retired community psychiatric nurse.

Susan and Stuart will be documenting the trek and special limited edition photographs will be available to purchase on their return with proceeds going to the charity.

The couple have also organised a special event to assist in raising funds. They will be hosting a Parkinson's Disease Society 60s-themed fundraising evening at the Wallasey Central Conservative Club on March 23, from 7.30pm, until midnight.

"We ask anyone who has been touched by Parkinson's disease to consider bringing friends along to our fundraising event and support this great charity, even if you just fancy a fun night out with laughs and entertainment, please come along on the March 23 at the Wallasey Central Conservative Club on Manor Road."

The couple intend to set out on their trek in May and raise £5,600 for the Parkinson's Disease Society.
