TWO motorcross bikes and kit worth about £15,000 have been stolen in broad daylight from a garage in Eastcombe, Stroud.
The bikes belong to brothers, Lewis, 17, and Ben, 22, Dowdeswell who have been involved in competitive racing since they were six years old.
Lewis and Ben’s mum, Rebecca had left the house on Fidges Lane at 1.30pm on Thursday, March 26.
But when she arrived back at the house at about 4.30pm she found her dog upstairs on the bed shaking. “As I walked into my kitchen I could see the garage door flapping in the wind,” she said.
She continued: “The thieves had managed to take everything in just three hours, they must have watched me go.
“These weren’t just opportunistic thieves, they knew we had bikes, they must have had a medium to large size van.
“There’s only one way in and one way out of this house. I can’t think how they could have done it.
“I’m heartbroken.”
The two orange KTM 250 SX Motorcross bikes both have racing number 21 written on their frames.
The intruders also took:
A green Scott mountain bike and body armour
Two white Arai helmets
Two red generators Dewalt drills
A red milwaukee radio
Two bags motocross goggles
One set of white size 12 motocross boots
Stuffed pike fish in glass cabinet
Silver excel Ktm wheels
Green Scott downhill pushbike
Two motocross kit bags full of kit
White alpinestar knee braces
Gloucestershire police are appealing for information following the theft.
In return for information leading to the successful prosecution of the offenders and safe return of all the goods the Dowdeswells are offering a reward of £5,000.
Call police on 101 quoting incident number 306 dated 26th March 2015.
