AN oil painting snatched from a museum exhibition in broad daylight by

a sneak thief has been recovered wrapped in a DIY shop bag. The #14,000

work by Samuel Peploe was dumped in the doorway of a Kirkcaldy house

yesterday (Fri) possibly because after the thief took is believed to

have taken fright. at the publicity generated by the theft.A Kirkcaldy

CID spokesman confirmed said the painting, called Evening, and measured

15in by 13in.had been discovered by a member of the public in

RavenscraigStreet.It waswrapped in a polythene B & Q bag to protect it

and it is intactand in good condition.
