The editorial stance of the Herald is usually balanced and humane. It

is therefore a mystery why so many ill-considered and evidently

unresearched opinions from Bill Forsythe should be given prominence in

the letters page.

It may be for balance, but certainly not for humanity. Arthur A. V.

Smyth gets it exactly right: I object to any comfort being given to any

voter who helped to get us into the present mess.
