PARENTS have made their views known strongly about how valuable schools are to their communities However, falling rolls, poor buildings and economic reality forced the council to take a very difficult decision last night.

Part of the problem has been school buildings being allowed to fall into a state of disrepair over a period of decades.

The council has pledged to plough any savings back into education.

Now councillors, together with teachers and parents, must get on with what is important, the teaching of children.
