THE Met Office is predicting “quiet weather” this Bank Holiday weekend, with light wind and a little rain.

A Met Office meteorologist said: “The Easter break is likely to start on rather a cloudy and damp note, with a frontal system sweeping outbreaks of rain across the country on Good Friday.

“This cloud and rain will gradually clear from the west through the course of the day, with drier and brighter conditions spreading eastwards during the afternoon and evening.”

High pressure will be in charge for the rest of the weekend, meaning settled and dry weather.

“There will be large amounts of cloud, but it will be mostly dry. There will be breaks in the cloud at times, and in any prolonged sunny spells it should feel pleasantly warm.

“However, it is worth bearing in mind that the sun might be stronger than you'd imagine at this time of year, so it is worth taking steps to ensure that you and your loved ones enjoy the sunshine safely, particularly as your skin may not be acclimatised to sunshine after the long winter months.”
