COFFEE lovers in Stroud could soon have an even greater choice of places to enjoy a drink after a chain store applied to open a shop in the town.
Coffee#1 wants to open a branch at the old Blockbuster video shop in George Street.
The chain, which is based in Cardiff and has 50 stores in Wales and England, including in Cirencester and Gloucester, has applied to Stroud District Council for permission to change the external shopfront of the old Blockbuster, which has been vacant since the video store closed in December 2013.
The proposed alterations to the shopfront include new windows, relocation of the George Street access, and new signs.
The application states that the coffee shop will accommodate up to 60 customers.
Proposed and opening hours will be from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and from 9am to 5.30pm on Sundays.
Does Stroud need more coffee shops or would you like to see more retail outlets?
