The Outdoor Gym. Did you know that Stonehouse now has its own outdoor gym? It is on the Laburnum Field alongside the children’s play area. It is suitable for all ages. It’s free. Give it a go.

Stonehouse WI We met on Wednesday April 15 on our 47th Birthday for a Members ‘Craft Evening’. Stonehouse Community Centre at 7.30pm. The Winner of the competition ‘Anything Yellow’ was awarded the Bud Vase. Jigsaw Puzzles were on the Bring and Buy Table.

Stonehouse Friendly Circle met on Friday, April 17 in the Community Centre at 2pm and had a coffee morning and jumble sale on Saturday, April 18 in the Community Centre from 9.30am. For more information contact Ruth on 828917.

Chapters of Gloucestershire History. April 18, City Museum. A series of talks looking at topics of local interest presented by Stroud WEA. Newbury I, the culminating Battle of the Relief of Gloucester, Jane Austen and the Military, Gloucester Trades in 1608, Inside the Wire: The Prisoner-of-War Camps & Hostels of Gloucestershire 1939-1948.

Keep Stonehouse Tidy. As part of this campaign there was a Litter Pick on Saturday, April 18 at 2pm. We met at the Youth Centre in Oldend Lane. All were welcome to come and join in. Refreshments were served afterwards.

Savvy Seniors Cinema Club meets every Monday at 11am at the Vue Cinema in Stroud. Next Monday, April 20 ‘The Imitation Game’ Starring Oscar nominated Benedict Cumberbatch. Cotswold AONB Wardens Walks. Saturday, April 25 come and join us at the Scout HQ in Cranham for a walk to look at hilltop villages. This is a ten mile walk lasting six hours. All walks start at 10am. Stonehouse Methodist Church will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in July. Hats for Seamen. Thank you to all who knit hats and balaclavas they are always very well received and I have just posted another 20. If you would like to knit a hat patterns and some wool are available in the Town Hall, or contact me.

Stonehouse Library Baby Bounce and Rhyme and Bookstart Bear sessions are back from 10.30am until 11am every Wednesday during school term time. Stonehouse library has a Home Library Service to promote community group or charity events. The building is also available as a venue for meetings. Pop in or call Lucy on 01453 823176.

Royal British Legion – The Royal British Legion has implemented bi-monthly meetings, they will be on even months; Feb, April, June, Oct & Dec and on the first Tuesday at 7pm.
