GLOUCESTERSHIRE fire service is warning people to keep their chimneys safe after a chimney fire near Tetbury.
A crew from Tetbury Community Fire Station was called out to Whitewater Road, Leighterton at 10.30am.
The crew was on scene for approximately one hour dealing with the incident.
Nobody was hurt by the fire.
A spokesperson from the fire service said: “Due to increased popularity of solid fuel heating, Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service attends a significant number of chimney fires every year.”
They suggest a number of ways to keep homes safe, the most important being to make sure chimneys are regularly swept.
More safety advice can be found at glosfire.gov.uk/ysafety_h_chimney.html.
