A GP practice in Stroud is still open despite a driver who crashed her car through a wall at Locking Hill Surgery yesterday.

The motorist, a Pitchcombe woman in her 60s believed to be a patient at the surgery, ploughed into the wall at the front of the building just before 3pm on Monday, April 20 after smashing into two vehicles which were parked in the car park off Slad Road.

Police on the scene said that the woman was uninjured but suffering from shock.

Despite the incident staff at the GP practice carried on working throughout the day only briefly emptying the waiting room before the builder arrived and declared the building structurally sound.

Speaking to the SNJ the day after the incident practice manager Jenny Vallely confirmed that she was liaising with police over the matter, looking into insurance costs and was in the process of getting builders in to fix the wall.

The damage created by the crash is covered with a large slab of plywood on the outside of the building.
