PHOENIX Fire held their latest event in front of a capacity crowd at the Orford Jubilee Community Hub on Friday.

Elite welterweight Ryan Lynskey, 20, was awarded Boxer of the Evening by the officials with a unanimous points decision against John Howard of Bishop Auckland.

Ryan displayed excellent discipline and controlled assertive pressure against a very determined opponent.

Sam Watson, 15, 53kgs, won a unanimous points decision against Bishop Auckland's Kalem Stewart.

In a tactical contest Sam just kept in front with clean scoring shots to win the bout.

This was awarded Bout of the Evening by the officials.

Elite middleweight Ben Murphy won a unanimous decision against Dominic Sheppard of Nottingham Phoenix in an entertaining bout fought at short and mid-range.

Bayode Okeleye, youth bantamweight, won a split decision against Calvin Connelly of Fox Manchester.

In a close-fought bout Bayode cleaner shots won him the day.

Jack With, 15, 62kgs, won a unanimous points decision against Steven Powell of Anfield.

Youth welterweight and light-heavy-weight Casey Brown and Jamie Aramayo both lost on close-to-call split decisions against international representatives Matthew Rennie Manx and Louis Philips.

Youth welterweight George Farrelly impressed, however his opponent Zac Corrie was awarded another close decision.

Phoenix's next event will be in partnership with Warrington ABC again at the Orford Jubilee on May 16.
