MEMBERS of a baptist church in Minchinhampton celebrated its 250th anniversary by carrying out 250 acts of kindness for the community.
The leaders and congregation at Minchinhampton Baptist Church (MBC) took on the feat as a special way of marking the milestone birthday.
A spokesman for the church said: “It was a brilliant day for all involved with celebrations for people both past and present of the MBC congregation.
“The greatest joy has come from being able to bless others in our community with our 250 acts of kindness.”
The 250 acts of kindness included:
- Delivering Hobbs cakes to the 50 homes nearest to the church;
- Giving 50 bunches of flowers and boxes of chocolates to each one of the adults who come to Specially 4U, a monthly church activity for adults with learning difficulties and their carers;
- Presenting 50 bunches of daffodils to Horsfall House retirement home and spending time with the residents;
- And, last but by no means least, delivering 50 fresh cups of Woefuldane coffee and cake to the GPs, teachers and local traders in Minchinhampton.
