MARKET traders from other towns will be able to hawk their wares in Cirencester and Tetbury after a council resolution.
Both town councils have been sub-letting market spaces for years but a new law means that they now have apply for an annual licence.
The councils’ will use the licences for special events such as Tetbury’s food festival or the turning on the Christmas lights in Cirencester.
The committee voted unanimously for both licences.
Chair of the licensing committee at Cotswold District Council Cllr Julian Beale said: “First of all, well done for struggling on without our permission for the last thousand years.”
