A FRUSTRATED woman who was involved in a car crash in Cirencester, where the other driver did not stop, has come forward to the Standard with more information.

Elaine Hayler, 64, was driving her car along London Road, towards the London Road roundabout in Cirencester on Monday, April 20 when she was involved in a collision with another car.

The other driver, who was also a woman, drove off leaving Mrs Hayler with nearly £1,500 worth of damage to her car.

Police are now investigating the incident.

“I was preparing to turn right to go back home along the Swindon Road. I got ready to move off and the other car went into the back of me,” said Mrs Hayler. “We were holding all the traffic up and she, the other driver, was adamant we should move. She didn’t even get out the car.”

“So I drove all the way round the island and then saw her go bolting off down the road towards Lechlade.”

Mrs Hayler is hopeful that the woman will be found.

“I’d know her if I saw her again,” she added.

The crash happened at around 5.30pm on April 20 at the London Road roundabout in Cirencester. Mrs Hayler was driving a red Skoda City and the other female driver was in a grey Rover.

No injuries were reported to the police.
