WOODCHESTER Mansion will host the gothic theatre presentation on the life of literature’s greatest detective, Sherlock Holmes.

Theatre company Don’t Go Into The Cellar will perform their play “The Singular Exploits of Sherlock Holmes” on Friday, April 24.

Performed in the mansion’s atmospheric drawing room, audiences will take a step back in time to Victorian world of Arthur Conan Doyle.

Staring actor Jonathan Goodwin, the play features the great detective recounting highlights from his myth-busting career.

Ticket holders for the live performance on Friday evening will also have the chance to wander the Mansion and soak up its spectacular architecture.

Woodchester Mansion is an unfinished, Gothic revival mansion house in Woodchester Park near Nympsfield.

The Mansion Servant’s Hall will be open for food and parking will be in the National Trust car park with a minibus shuttle to the venue.

The show will be held at 7pm on Friday, April 24. Tickets are £10.
