Savvy Seniors Cinema Club meets every Monday at 11am at the Vue Cinema in Stroud. Next Tuesday May 5 ‘Birdman’ and ‘Gone Girl’. Also next Tuesday, May 5 live screening from the Royal Opera House ‘La Fille Mal Gardee’ (with the famous clog dance) at 7pm.

Stonehouse Methodist Church will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in July. Stonehouse Gardening Club will meet next Wednesday, May 6 at 7.30 in The Community Centre. Austin Perkins will be talking about ‘The Importance of Trees in our Lives’.

Stonehouse Gardening Club will also be holding their annual ‘Stall on the Green’ on Saturday, May 9 from 9am onwards. There will be plenty of plants for sale as well as advice and gardening tips from members. Always worth a visit.

Wycliffe Choral Society. Their Spring Concert on Sunday, May 10 includes one of the most attractive and popular of all 20th C. Choral works Poulenc’s ‘Gloria’. Included in the programme is Bizet’s ‘Carmen Suite No1’. Two glorious Beethoven works will be played in the first half of the concert – the ‘Egmont Overture’ and his ‘Mass in C’. The Concert takes place in Wycliffe College Chapel Stonehouse at 7.30 and tickets £10 (U18’s £2) are obtainable from Stroud Tourist Information: Tel 01453760960 or www.wycliffechoralsociety.org or at the door.

Hats for Seamen. Thank you to all who knit hats and balaclavas they are always very well received and I have just posted another 20. If you would like to knit a hat patterns and some wool are available in the Town Hall, or contact me.

Stonehouse Library Baby Bounce & Rhyme and Bookstart Bear sessions are back. Every Wednesday at 10.30 – 11am during school term time. Stonehouse library is there for everyone – there is a Home Library Service and why not let us promote community group or charity events. The building is also available as a venue for meetings. Stonehouse Pensioners Club. Come and meet old friends and make new ones by joining the Stonehouse pensioners club. We meet alternate Wednesdays at the Stonehouse Community Centre at 2pm. Enjoy some entertainment, followed by tea, coffee and biscuits, we also have a raffle.
