YOUNGSTERS from Prior Park Prep School in Cricklade were thrown into the dragons’ den last week.

Year 7 and 8 pupils worked in teams to create and market computer games with a healthy eating message.

On Thursday they pitched their ideas to a Dragons’ Den-style panel made up out of Prior Park Prep’s headmaster, Mark Pearce and three managers from Waitrose Supermarket in Cirencester .

Mrs Sarah Paddock, head of computing and assessment at Prior Park said: “It is very exciting for the children to experience real life challenges to give their work context and meaning."

To conjure up their proposals the pupils used computer programmes such as Microsoft Publisher, which they used to design DVD box covers and promotional flyers, and . They also used iPads to create radio and video advertisements.

As part of their project, The children also used research and questioned their target age group and a wide range of technology.
