THERE will be a thrilling aerobatic displays at the annual vintage transport show in South Cerney this summer.

Stroud Vintage Transport & Engine Club stages its 41st Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza at South Cerney Airfield every year, where vintage vehicles from trains, classic cars, tractors and buses are showcased.

At this year's event, which is taking place between July 31 and August 2, taking to the skies will be Oaksey pilot, Lauren Richardson and Richard Goodwin who will be putting his 1960s Pitts S2S G-EWIZ biplane through its paces.

As if that wasn't enough, Jump4Heroes, The Royal British Legion Extreme Human Flight Team, will be skydiving into the show's Steam Arena.

Martyn Slater, chairman of the Stroud Vintage Transport and Engine Club, said: “The event provides a showcase for preservationists across the country and in some cases, further afield to recognise the hard work and dedication required in keeping historic exhibits to a standard where they will survive for future generations to enjoy their living history. Our goal has always been to give a value for money day out, with something for all of the family to enjoy and provide a safe environment for people to celebrate our unique transport history, and actively encourage interaction between exhibitors and visitors.”

There will also be a main action arena which will have commentary and parades of all the vintage vehicles on site.

Animals will also be showcased in the countryside arena, which will feature dog agility, ferret racing, rare breeds, alpaca’s, shire horses, horse logging, children’s pony rides and falconry displays.

Ticket are priced £10 adults, juniors £5 and under five years old go free.
