ELEVEN determined teams will attempt to set the world record for pulling a truck for a mile in Stroud this weekend.

A total of 11 teams of 15 people will take part in the Truck Pull Challenge in Merrywalks on Sunday.

They are hoping to make history by each pulling an Eddie Stobart lorry for a gruelling mile.

The team with the fastest time will hold the Guinness world record as this has never been attempted before.

There will also be live entertainment on the day from 2013 X Factor runner-up Nicholas McDonald and others.

The truck pull challenge will begin at 11am with the live entertainment kicking off on-stage at 4.30pm.

There are limited tickets for a meet and greet with Nicholas on the official X Factor tour bus.

The event is open to the public and funds raised on the day will go to the Action for Children charity.

More details on the truck pull and live entertainment are available at truckpullchallenge.co.uk For pictures and reports from the event, see stroudnewsandjournal.co.uk and pick up a copy of next Wednesday's SNJ.
