AN ASPIRING music producer from Cirencester has been chosen as the third person to take part in the Josh Edmonds Memorial Scheme, a project set up after the sudden death of a well-known local college student.

Parents of Josh Edmonds, Jimmy Edmonds and Jane Harris, set up the scheme after their 22-year-old son died in a motorcycle accident while travelling in Vietnam four years ago.

Josh was a talented music producer at the Ministry of Sound. Since his death, his parents have teamed up with the London nightclub and Cirencester College - where Josh studied - to create an annual one-month internship at the nightclub for young people in Gloucestershire.

Now, his parents have announced the successful candidate for Josh’s Memorial Scheme for 2015.

Jane Harris said: "Taylor Wheeler will be following Lewis Murphy and Barney Wilson for a month’s internship at the Ministry of Sound. We look forward to hearing about Taylor’s time at MOS. Good luck Taylor and make Josh proud."

Taylor, a former Cirencester Deer Park and Cirencester College student, said he was "over the moon" when he found out he had been selected for the scheme.

He said he was optimistic when he applied late last year, but could not believe it when he received a call months later saying he had been successful.

"For me this is the opportunity of a lifetime. Well one of the best in the last 23 years," said Taylor, 23 who studied music technology at the college.

"I was super stoked to have been called back. I replied immediately and started to dream about what it would be like to go to ‘THE’ Ministry of Sound.

"To me The Ministry of Sound is the source of my love for old school garage, drum & bass, dubstep and house. Without their compilations of the up and coming, as well as the seasoned professionals of EDM, I would not have the same eclectic taste in electronic music as I do today."

Taylor said he thought it was incredible that Josh's family had created such an opportunity.

"They are carrying on his talent through the talent of others and I feel so lucky to not only be introduced to Jane and her family but also to be a part of the Josh Edmonds Memorial scheme."

Taylor will begin his one month internship in July 2015.
