OVER 3,000 people flocked to Stratford Park on Sunday for Stroud's annual Family Fun Day where basketball freestyler, Tommy Baker, wooed the crowd with his Guinness world record tricks.
Also performing on the park’s bandstand were Bristol’s Renewal Gospel Choir, whose singers included Vernon Samuels, former Great Britain triple jump star, who gave an inspirational interview about how to perform to the highest possible standard.
Vernon performed at the 1988 Olympics for Great Britain.
Children participated in a host of games and interactive activities and enjoyed the bog roll game organised by Kids Club group, Zest.
Organiser Phil Coysh said: “This annual free event has become part of the broad festival landscape of Stroud.
“People are very appreciative and can’t believe that all the entertainment and activities, from bouncy castles to face painting, plus a wide variety of art and craft stalls are all free.
"It is very unique.”
Organised by the churches and Christian organisations in Stroud the festival has over 150 volunteers who come together from across the town to put on the event.
