Man found lying on the side of the A417 in Cirencester after witnesses say they saw him jump from a bridge
DRIVERS reported seeing a man lying on the side of the A417 underneath the Burford Road bridge in Cirencester this morning, who is thought to have jumped off.
Police received several reports about the man, in his sixties and from Cirencester, lying on the side of the road at about 7.30am.
One person said to police that they saw the man jump from the side of the bridge - not the full height - onto the verge below.
Police and paramedics raced to the scene and the local man was taken to hospital for treatment to back injuries and a mental health assessment.
