TWO days of beer, cider and sausages has given Malmesbury Victoria Football Club a welcome funding boost, bringing in £5,000 for the team.

The fundraiser over the weekend saw supporters from the town and beyond visit the Flying Monk ground and enjoy food, drink and live music over the two days.

As well as live music and drinks for adults kids were able to play on a bouncy castle, try fun fair rides and run around the football pitch meaning they were entertained with ease.

Club secretary Julie Exton confirmed that the club had raised their target of £5,000 on Tuesday and said that the club was very happy with the result.

She said: “It just went so well, it was just a pleasure to be there.

“The young ones on the Friday behaved so well and they were an absolute credit to the town.

“It had a real community sort of feel down there and then kids all seemed to enjoy themselves as well.”

Mrs Exton confirmed that the club would look to hold the festival again next year and were looking forward to the upcoming one day Vicsfest in July.
