A CARER who works in Fairford was amazed at an act of kindness from two local women - one he said he would not have expected in his home town of Quedgeley.

Frank Amali, 47, has worked at Beech View Care Home in Fairford for nearly two years and was taking one elderly resident Nick Cloutman for a walk earlier this month.

Unknown to him, Frank lost his wallet during the walk around the town and did not realise it was missing until two women showed up at the home to hand it back.

"I had taken one of my clients out for a walk in the sunshine and did not realise my wallet fell out of my pocket," said Frank. "I didn't think anything of it. But when I got back to the home my colleague Lorraine said I had a visitor. I thought, 'I live in Quedgeley, who is visiting me in Fairford?"

The mystery visitors, two local women, asked Frank if he had lost something and he said he did not believe he had. But then they showed him his wallet.

"I was just like, 'oh my god!'" added Frank. "It was really appreciated. If I was in Gloucester or Quedgeley I would have just lost it forever - it would have been forgotten."

Frank's colleague Lorraine was equally surprised at the kindness of the women.

"We were so amazed that these ladies had taken time and effort to bring it back to Frank," she said. "They could have not done anything or they could have handed it to the police station, but as Frank did not realise it was missing he could have gone home and would have been without all his cards."

Both Lorraine and Frank were keen to tell their story so they could say a special thank you to the two women, who they said were named Sarah Shaw and Sharon Chase.

"I just feel that when people do something like this it's nice to say thank you," she said. "Frank even said it was good he lost his here and not Gloucester as if he had done that in Gloucester he said he would not have seen his wallet again."
