A TEAM of employees from a recruiter who took part in the London Marathon have raised more than £11,000 for a Gloucestershire based charity.

The five-strong team from Omega Resource Group in Stonehouse decided to donate the money to The Spring Centre – which improves the quality of life for disabled children and their families.

It will be put towards helping the organisation to provide care and services to more people with special needs across Gloucestershire.

James Strickland, Ian Wills, Michael Harper, Rupert Wakefield and Alex Reid all completed the 26 miles for the charity.

James Strickland, group director of Omega Resource Group, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and I cannot congratulate everyone who took part enough for their incredible efforts.

“The Spring Centre is an exceptional charity, and one that will benefit immensely from this donation.

“I’m certain that these additional funds will go a long way to helping the children and their families face their everyday challenges a little more easily.”
