A MAN from Berkley is in Southmead Hospital, Bristol where he is being treated for serious injuries after his car smashed into a tree near Tetbury around 5.30am on Saturday .
Police, fire and the ambulance service rushed to the scene of the collision, which occurred on the A433 near Trull Cottages.
The collision involved a black Saab motor car travelling in the Cirencester direction which left the carriageway, before colliding with the tree.
The driver of the Saab suffered serious injuries in the collision and after being released from his vehicle he was taken to Southmead Hospital.
The A433 was closed to all vehicles for approximately six hours after the incident, while investigation and recovery work took place.
Any witnesses to the incident who have not already been spoken to by police are asked to call 101, quoting incident reference number122 of June 20 2015.
