AN ELDERLY male pedestrian is in a 'critical' condition following a collision with a motorcycle on Southgate Street, Gloucester, last night.

Officers were called at about 5.40pm following the collision opposite Albion House.

The 86-year-old pedestrian was crossing the road outside the Tall Ships pub.

He suffered life threatening head, leg and pelvic injuries and was transported to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance.

The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old man riding a green Kawasaki motorcycle, suffered a broken leg and has been taken by ambulance to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Both men are from Gloucester.
Southgate Street was closed until 10pm while Gloucestershire's roads policing unit carried out a collission scene investigation.

Gloucestershire Constabulary's collision investigation team will now be investigating the crash and are urging anyone who witnessed it but hasn't yet spoken to police to call 101 and quote incident 375 of 22 June.
