COUNCILLORS are seeking the public’s views on improving the ‘meals on wheels’ scheme in Gloucestershire.

The current contract is up for renewal from April next year and a public consultation has been launched by Gloucestershire County Council to get customer feedback.

Councillor Dorcas Binns, cabinet member for older people, said: “We want to make sure that vulnerable adults in the county can get access to healthy and delicious meals when they need them.

“By taking part in this consultation, and offering us your views and opinions, you can make sure to influence the way our community meals service operates and help us to better understand how the support we provide helps people to live independently.

“I would encourage as many of our customers as possible to fill in the surveys we have sent out, do it online or talk to your current care worker about how to take part.”

The consultation will run until Tuesday, June 30 and is available here: https://gloucestershire-consult.objective.co.uk/portal/socialcare/communitymeals/communitymeals
