A FUNDRAISING garden party at Hyde Mill, in Stow, raised £15,000 for the Nelson Trust.

The charity helps some of the most disadvantaged individuals and families in Gloucestershire to overcome their addictions and go on to achieve great things.

Guest were given a private viewing of the Coronation meadow at Hyde Mill that had been created by Hugh and Rosie Tollemache and inspired by the Prince of Wales, Roger Mortlock, chief executive of the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust explained there were around 150 rare plants and species in the meadow.

Another guest was international garden designer and writer, Mary Keen who inspired everyone to ‘grow a little bit more wild in the garden’ and develop their own meadows.

Artists Sue Peake, Nic Park and Martin Kiszko donated art for the raffle and 180 picnic lunches were prepared by an army of volunteers.
