A VERY special birthday was celebrated at the Ampney Crucis fete last weekend with tea, Pimms and a good old fashioned barbecue.
Guest of honour and ex Spitfire pilot John Beresford celebrated his 100th birthday and was given the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially open the fete.
Following the official opening the celebrations got underway in earnest with a birthday cake presented to Mr Beresford before the assembled villagers sang him happy birthday.
The fete proper then got underway with stalls, tents and teas from the WI on offer to all on a beautiful Cotswold afternoon.
