Waltzing Bowmaker

THIRTY-THREE ladies played in the Waltzing Bowmaker at Cirencester Golf Club with the winners being Venetia Champniss, Liz Anderson and Joyce Hall.

Their score of 76 points beat off the challenge from Jan Flynn, Jayne Worthington and Chris Moylan (75).

Scratch Cup

THE Scratch Cup on Sunday produced a tie between Emma Brereton and Hilary Swan – both with a gross score of 170 – on a windy day when scoring was not easy.

Emma won after a three-hole play off.

Birthday Vase

THE Birthday Vase was very well supported with 39 ladies playing in excellent weather conditions.

One of the first ladies out, Jan Flynn, was the eventual winner with a great handicap-cutting score of net 66 which included a well deserved two on the 13th.

Runner-up was Fiona Harrington with a score of 70 and third was Liz Anderson (71).

Three ladies got twos on the ninth – Jane Brodrick, Jane Muncer and Erika Brooke.

THE Ladies' C team have started their season well with three wins in a row. Against Brickhampton at home in June they won 11-3, at Stinchcombe they triumphed 10-4 and they completed the treble with a 12-2 success at Lilley Brook.

County Week

CONGRATULATIONS to Alison Kelly for a successful County Week.
She played four days out of the five and won three foursome matches (with Jane Rees) and halved her only singles match, thereby helping the Gloucestershire Ladies win the South West Region without losing a match.
They now go to the County Finals which will be held at Frilford Heath in September, where support will be welcomed.

Watson Williams
HILARY SWAN and Sheila Westmacott played the first round of the Watson Williams competition and unfortunately lost to Ross on Wye on the 17th.
Emma Brereton and Alison Kelly are to play their round this weekend at Broadway. Good luck to them.
