PUPILS from Chalford Hill Primary School are set to lock horns at the finals of Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust’s Primary School’s wildlife quiz this evening.
Chalford Hill pupuils will put their brains together as they face up against Longney Church of England Primary School and North Nibley Church of England Primary School.
The final takes place at 7pm tonight at the Rural Innovation Centre, Royal Agricutural University in Cirencester.
With questions such as picture and bird song identification, guess the odd one out and a thrilling plant identification round, the questions are challenging and the quiz is always a close run affair.
“Outdoor education is so important. It teaches children how to apply knowledge and develops social, communication and team working skills,” said Dr. Gareth Parry, head of Community Programmes at Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust.
“Every year Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust educates over 4,500 children and works with over 70 schools to run cross-curricular outdoor activities.
“Over 100 schools take part in the Wildlife Quiz and the children are so inspiring with their enthusiasm and knowledge, it is my favourite event of the year.”
- All Gloucestershire primary schools can take part and it is free to enter, contact info@gloucestershirewildlifetrust.co.uk to find out more about the 2016 quiz.
