THE Conservative MP for Devizes, has become an Ambassador for Julia’s House, the Dorset and Wiltshire Children’s Hospices.

Claire Perry has offered her support for the charity in its bid to build a children’s hospice in the heart of Wiltshire.

Julia’s House is currently looking at potential sites in Devizes after reaching £3.1 million of the £3.5 million fundraising target.

Claire, who becomes the sixth Julia’s House Ambassador in the county,  said: “Julia’s House Hospice does such amazing work helping children with life-limiting conditions and their families. I think their plans to expand services further into Wiltshire are admirable. “I am delighted that the organisation is planning to open a new centre in Devizes and I look forward to supporting them in any way that I can.”

Julia’s House has a small care team offering community-based respite to families living in south Wiltshire and  once the new hospice is open it plans to extend this care countywide.

The charity is currently recruiting volunteers to man stalls at fundraising events, help with office admin and generally spread the word about the Julia’s House.
