A 64-YEAR-OLD engineer took redundancy in his stride and set himself up as a handyman when the office he was working for shut.

Bob Price from Stonehouse had been an Apple Mac engineer for AT Computers in Tewkesbury for 16 years when the office he worked for suddenly closed last month.

With no intention of retiring, Bob turned to the skills he has – DIY.

Always there when friends and family could not fix things around the house or in the garden, Bob decided to launch OddjobBob.

It is a handyman service for people who do not have the time, patience or skills to do odd jobs themselves.

Bob can tackle anything, painting, decorating, putting up shelves, lawn mowing or tidying to name a few tasks he’s been asked to do in the past.

Bob, who was planning to retire after his 65th birthday to be a handyman, has already been out decorating and gardening in Stroud and painting doors in Cheltenham.

Besides working, Bob hopes to get away more, travelling in his campervan with his wife Hazel and dogs, Tilly and Herbie.
