A CHILDREN’S summer camp run by the Christian Community church in Stroud is set to return for its sixth year.

A range of projects and activities will be on offer, from arts and crafts to swimming and hiking challenges.

This year the camp will take place at Oaklands Park, on the edge of the Forest of Dean, where there will be farm animals, a lake and plenty of places to hike.

Aaron Mirkin, a priest at the Christian Community, and wife Judy, a Kindergarten teacher, will lead the camp with assistance from a number of helpers.

Helper Dominic Corbett said: “I never cease to be amazed, amused, challenged, utterly exhausted, and changed by the children on the camp.

“It is always amazing to see the transformations the children undergo.

“An environment is created where children are allowed to be children.”

It will take place from July 18 to July 28 and is open to children from Year 2 to 8, from all schools and backgrounds.

The cost is £250 per child with reductions available on request.
