POLICE are appealing for three people to come forward after a car mounted the pavement and collided with two pedestrians and a telegraph pole in Hester's Way on Saturday, July 4.

Officers want to talk to two men and a woman who are suspected of being occupants in the silver Seat that was travelling on Hester's Way Road, in the direction of Princess Elizabeth Way.

The occupants of the Seat are believed to have left the scene of the crash before the emergency services arrived.

A 50-year-old male pedestrian was airlifted to Southmead hospital in Bristol with head injuries and a broken pelvis

The 55-year-old woman suffered a broken collar bone, cuts and bruises. She has since been discharged from hospital.

The injured man remains in hospital in a serious condition.

The road was closed for six hours while a collision investigation took place.

Chief Inspector Mark Ravenscroft said: “We’ve been given the names of two men and a woman we want to talk to urgently. They are all white, in their 30’s and local to the Cheltenham area.

“At this stage we are doing everything we can to find them but we will consider releasing their names if we are not successful in the next 24 hours.

“This was a collision that has left two people with very nasty injuries – I would appeal to the better nature of those we want to talk with to do the right thing and come forward. It is only a matter of time before we catch up with you.”

The three people or those who witnessed the collision but haven't spoken to police, are urged to call 101, quoting incident 262 of July 4.
