COTSWOLD MP Geoffrey Clifton-Brown enjoyed coffee and cake as he learnt all about a local charity which helps more than 3,000 deaf people across Gloucestershire.

Geoffrey visited the Cirencester branch of Coventry Building Society for their coffee and cake morning on Friday, July 10, where he learnt about the important work they do with Gloucestershire Deaf Association (GDA).

As the charity’s new community partner the building society will help raise much-needed funds and the GDA will provide deaf awareness training to the building society’s staff.

After the visit Mr Clifton-Brown said: “It is fantastic that the Cirencester branch of Coventry Building Society have chosen the Gloucestershire Deaf Association as its new community partner, which will help both organisations improve services available to deaf people.

“The event was very colourful and I am sure that this will be a successful partnership and one which I am happy to support.”
