YOUNGSTERS at a Cirencester school ended term by pushing themselves to their limits on the school’s athletic track.
Today, Chesterton Primary School, held its own version of popular fundraising event Race for Life, which raises cash for Cancer Research.
Pupils from all year groups and staff raised more than £400 for the charity by walking or running around the track for 20 minutes.
Millie, Kirby, 11, said: “We had to push to our limits and trust our strength.”
“It was really good. I think I did well, so did a lot of people,”said Kimberley Davey, 11.
Chloe Wilson-Ash, 11, thought the event was a good chance to mingle with the little ones and help raise money for charity.”
Just like the the famous adult race, children sported back sign saying who they are running for and each were given medals for taking part.
PE co-ordinator and Year 6 teacher, Sue Dearsley was very proud of everyone’s efforts.
She said: “ It was very popular with the children, quite a lot of their mums may have done the Race For Life and this was the chance for the children to do their own.
“We will definitely, defintely do it again.”
