GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council is urging people to send in nominations for this year’s Grow Gloucestershire Showcase Awards.

The ceremony on October 20 at Cheltenham Racecourse  will celebrate the achievements of young people in Gloucestershire, aged between 14 and 24-years-old, who have kick-started their careers through work placements, internships and apprenticeships.

The award categories include, outstanding work experience student, outstanding intern, outstanding apprentice, outstanding support to a young person, outstanding business contribution to growing Gloucestershire, and exceptional achievement.

Cllr Mark Hawthorne, leader of Gloucestershire County Council, said: “I hope this year will be bigger and better than last year as we have already had a lot of entries for the Showcase Awards. There is still time to nominate; if you know of a motivated young person, someone who has overcome a personal challenge or if you have been supported by an organisation we would like to hear from you.”

The deadline for entries is 4pm on 31st July 2015.
