ASDA could be Stroud’s new supermarket after all as planning consultants have submitted another application for Daniel’s Industrial Estate.
This is Hunter Page’s second supermarket application for the site which is more or less identical to the one previously refused.
A spokesman for Hunter Page, the planning consultants for the Daniel’s site, said: “The proposals are comparable with those submitted in 2013.
“The application will give councillors another opportunity to reconsider the regeneration of the Daniel’s site which has reached the end of its useful life in its current form.”
Stroud District Council refused planning permission for the Daniel’s site in April.
Plans for a supermarket at Avocet Industrial Estate in Dudbridge Road was approved instead despite it having a flood risk.
The estate is currently occupied by Stroud Metal and Managing Director, Matthew Large said: "We are still waiting to hear from the council to sign off the paperwork for April's decision."
Lidl has exclusive rights to negotiations with the landowners at Avocet Industrial Estate on Dudbridge Road.
